Red & White Queen-Creative Moments Challenge #137

Welcome to my Creative Moments project for the Creative Moments Challenge Blog Challenge #137. The theme this week is all about fairies and other magic/mystic/fantasy creatures.

My sponsor for this round of challenges is

There are so many pretty digi stamps at the Mari Digi Stamps store! My chosen digi is Red and White Queen. I thought this would be part of a really cute and fanciful table centre piece. I started by colouring the image with Spectrum Noir markers.

I used permanent metallic markers to colour the crowns and buckles. Fussy cutting is not my friend! πŸ˜•

The cup was cut with my Cricut.

Here is the complete project! I hope you like it!

Supplies used: Mari Digi stamp, Spectrum Noir markers, Chameleon markers, DCWV card stock, & various ephemera.

Snow On The Mountains-Creative Moments Challenge #136

I am here again to share my creation for the Creative Moments Challenge Blog. This week the theme is weather & a sentiment.

My sponsor for this week is

You can find your way to the challenge and the image by clicking the above pictures!

I had a wonderful time working with the mountain image from Scribbles. I love the look of the mountains and can see them most days from my living room window! We live just a couple of hours from one of the most beautiful places on earth! ( I may be biased 😊) My sons & husband ski. I do not, but I occasionally go with them and read in the lodge. Sometimes I bring projects to work on. I do wish that I enjoyed skiing but I have tried it and it really isn’t my thing. I grew up on the prairies so there was not much opportunity to learn.

I coloured the mountain image with Spectrum Noir markers and used a white embossing powder covered with UTEE to give the look of snow.

The plaid paper, spotted acrylic sheet (used back side of), compass sticker, bear & tree diecut as well as the sentiment stamp were all CTMH.

SCT Sampler January

I was so excited to hear that Scrapbook & Cards Today was putting together a sampler subscription. I signed up as soon as I heard about it! I got my sampler on January 15.

It came packaged in a bag with this adorable hello beautiful card. On the back of the card it outlined who the products were supplied by.

This is just a sampling of what I received. There were sample sized papers, vellum, stickers, die cuts, chipboard & acrylic pieces and other embellishments. It also came with a stamp, and die set that is so cute.

There is a great assortment of goodies with plenty of product to make many things! I made these 2 cards using items from my sampler pack.

There is a lot of product in the small package! My favourite item in the pack was the gold sequins! I put that stuff on everything!

You will find that clicking the images above will take you directly to Creative Moments, and the video game guy at Bugaboo Stamps.

The image that I chose is Video Game Guy. I love this video game guy! I chose this image because it reminds me of my sons, especially my oldest. Gaming & snacks, with a little garbage thrown in, is his normal. LOL! It pretty much sums up their free time when they aren’t playing ball hockey.

Here is my video game guy project. I decided to make an easel card. It has been ages since I have made one. This card is approximately 6″x6″. This card is the perfect size to contain gift cards! πŸ˜‰

<<<<<<<<

I coloured the video game guy with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, the “Fun and Games” and circuit board are part of the CTMH Tech Speak Stamp Set. Also from CTMH is the blue cardstock and brads. The fun, game-themed paper is from a stack of Crate Paper called Boys Rule. I used Recollections kraft cardstock and black Staz-on ink to complete the card.

I have also entered into the following challenges.

Progress Made-Challenging Myself

*This post may contain affiliate links. πŸ™‚

I have been trying to make things for myself. It was a sort of New Years resolution . I am working on my 12 Month Journey Of Craftiness. You can follow it on my Facebook page or on Instagram. (#12monthjourneyofcraftiness #scrapatini)

I have specific things that I want to accomplish for myself in a crafty way this year. My goal is to complete the following goals each month:

βœ… 2 scrapbook layouts

βœ… 4 cards

βœ… try at least one new product or technique

βœ… complete at least one PHD (project half done)

βœ… to have more fun, contests, and interaction with my followers

It is already January 20 and since I have made my journey a priority, I have completed my monthly goal except for finishing a PHD! I am working on that PHD but I have a ways to go to complete it.

The new product that I have tried this month is coloured pencils from Prismacolor. They are amazing, very high quality colouring pencils. They have a great lay down of colour and are very smooth.

The Prismacolor pencils are available here >>>Prismacolor Pencils .

They are currently on a super sale at Blitsy for approximately 87% off! Regular price $93.66 CAD but on sale for $12.49 CAD. *Sale can end at any time so if you want them go get them now!

I have completed 2 layouts. Both are of my terrific and cute sons from our 2014 Hawaiian vacation although I didn’t theme them as vacation layouts. I used some gorgeous Wild Whisper Designs Paper (company from Calgary, Canada! Yay!) and themed them more as a self-esteem layout.

I have also completed several cards and a wine bottle tag.

Have you make a crafty New Years Resolution? Are you taking time to do what you enjoy? Have you made something that you are proud of? Let me know!

12 Month Journey Of Craftiness

I love to make things! I know you have heard it from me before but lately most have my crafting has been for others. I have decided that the new year will bring a renewed love of crafting just for me. I realized that since July most of my projects have been for others, whether it be custom orders or gifts.

I made this layout at least a couple of years ago! Notice anything about it? It has no picture! It has been sitting in my To-Do pile for quite some time. This is what inspired my “12 Month Journey Of Craftiness Event on my Facebook page. Scrapatini on Facebook

I hope you will join me and maybe take your own Journey Of Craftiness in the new year! Happy Crafty New Year!

Christmas Cheer-Cricut Made Style

*This post contains affiliate links

So Christmas is just under 10 days from today. All of our actual shopping is done although we are waiting for a few parcels to arrive. I am a little unsure when I am actually going to have time to wrap them though. Our boy’s Christmas lists were a little sparse this year, neither of them are really into toys as they are 10 & 13 years old now. They did ask for a big ticket item each but they also asked for things like movie gift cards to see a couple of movies coming soon. I made the boys some Christmas Eve boxes with a few necessities like chocolate, hot chocolate, socks and more. If I have time I am going to make them some t-shirts with their favourite video games on them.

Since my successful craft sale back in November I have been working on custom orders mostly personalized items. I made some gifts for family, friends, coworkers and neighbours. I use my Cricut Explore Air 2 to cut my designs and if working with htv (iron-on) I also use my Easy Press. These Christmas Pyjama bags and moose were personalized for my boys using both.

If you are looking to treat yourself you can find the Cricut Explore Air 2 & Easy Press here.

Cricut Easy Press

Cricut Iron On And More Supplies

Here are a few other Cricut-Made items.

Added the rabbits name to the stocking. Teacher ornaments customized.

I love versatility of using my Cricut. I can cut iron-on to create T-shirts and more, vinyl to put on everything from signs & ornaments to wine glasses. It also cuts paper! (shocker right?)

My favourite thing about making shirts is that I can put anything that my heart (or my son’s heart) desires! We made a Wonder canvas for one of his teachers. He loved it so I made him a T-shirt that was opposite colours of the canvas.

I also make myself shirts to cheer on my boys during their ball hockey playoffs.

Which reminds me that we have one last game before the Christmas Holidays. One of my cubs is playing for a bronze medal this afternoon! Fingers, & toes are crossed that we win! Wish us luck!
