Rose Mackintosh on Canvas For Stamprints

I just realized that we are at the tail end of September. The month has been flying by and I have been so busy that I have’t done very much crafting. I did colour a few images here and there starting with this gorgeous image from Stamprints . You can find the image at Stamprints Etsy

I printed the Rose Mackintosh image 4 to a page and coloured them with Spectrum Noir and Chameleon markers. I decided to try different hair and skin tones and was originally going to make a series of cards but when I found some 4×6 canvases at the dollar store I decided to go that route. I used a red and black acrylic paint to create a drippy effect and left it to dry for a few days. Since I had coloured some of the small details on the image a golden colour, I wanted to add a bit of gold to the canvas as well. I achieved this with a Vicki Boutin gold glaze. I originally added a few streaks with a paint brush but ended up rubbing it on with a cloth. I let it dry a couple of days.

I used a dollar store stencil and some Heidi Swapp texture paint to create a bit of dimension. I laid it on pretty thick. Again I let it dry for a few days.

I cut the coloured Stamprints images to the desired shape and attached using a glossy ModPodge, and dried over night.

The last step of my mini canvases was to stamp my sentiments. I used 2 different stamps from Kraftin Kimmie, stamped onto regular paper. I tore the stamped sentiments to give then a bit more texture and then Mod Podged those as well.

Here are the completed canvases! I am quite happy with how it turned out. Next time I think I will lay my image down before the texture paint.

A Boy And His Dog-Creative Moments Challenge #141

Here I am once again with a fantastic challenge from Creative Moments Challenge Blog.

For Challenge #141 the theme is a minimum of 2 flowers on your creation.

My sponsor this challenge is

The image that I have chosen is Cinema Chaplin. It is an adorable image of a boy and his dog. I have boys and dogs so this one tugs at my heart. ❤️ I don’t very often use flowers on masculine cards so this is a bit of a challenge for me but I am up for it!

I used Graphic 45 Raining Cats & Dogs paper. One of the papers had a beautiful floral print in gorgeous, vintage colours. The colours of this floral paper were incorporated into the Cinema Chaplin stamp as to coordinate the image with the paper. The floral paper is what I used as the flowers requested in the theme. I layered up several patterned papers and knotted lace ribbon to give the look of depth while using 3D adhesive to lift the characters.

Products used: Mari digi image, Spectrum Noir markers, Chameleon markers, Graphic45 paper sticker and chipboard , Recollections cardstock, miscellaneous ribbon.

You will find that clicking the images above will take you directly to Creative Moments, and the video game guy at Bugaboo Stamps.

The image that I chose is Video Game Guy. I love this video game guy! I chose this image because it reminds me of my sons, especially my oldest. Gaming & snacks, with a little garbage thrown in, is his normal. LOL! It pretty much sums up their free time when they aren’t playing ball hockey.

Here is my video game guy project. I decided to make an easel card. It has been ages since I have made one. This card is approximately 6″x6″. This card is the perfect size to contain gift cards! 😉

<<<<<<<<

I coloured the video game guy with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, the “Fun and Games” and circuit board are part of the CTMH Tech Speak Stamp Set. Also from CTMH is the blue cardstock and brads. The fun, game-themed paper is from a stack of Crate Paper called Boys Rule. I used Recollections kraft cardstock and black Staz-on ink to complete the card.

I have also entered into the following challenges.
