Mushroom-Stamprints

I thought I would try something a little different with my mushroom image from Stamprints. I printed my image as usual n regular printer paper but I decided to use my pearlescent water colour paints to colour the image.

I cut the image out with an oval metal die run through my Cuttlebug. I used Recollections card stock for a base and for the plain kraft card stock layered oval. The patterned paper was layered over the base and the 2 oval layers were placed on top with a small paper embellishment. The final project seemed to be missing something so I ransacked searched my boxes of miscellaneous junk embellishments to find this cute wooden “Happy”. I used some Distress Stain to colour match it.

Once the wood was dry I attached it with some 3D tape. Here is the completed project! I think it would make a cute new home card but it suited for most “Happy” occasions.

A Horror-ific Birthday!

* This post contains affiliate links 😊

Have I ever shared my love of Kindred Stamps with you? I am a huge pop culture lover and their stamps fulfil my need for all things nerdy! Over the Winter break I coloured numerous images with my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.

I purchased and downloaded the digital image from Kindred Stamps and used the newer stamp set “The Horror” for the sentiments.

My youngest son is obsessed with a certain creepy clown although he hasn’t actually seen the movie this character is inspired by (& likely won’t until he is an adult😂). This is the birthday card that I have made for him even though his birthday is a few months off yet.

I thought that this creepy guy would suit some old DCWV patterned cardstock that I had in my stash, stock. I stamped the sentiment with CTMH ink and Stazon red ink. I added the images with a few pop dots for dimension.

Here is the completed card!

I also whipped together a quick Valentine using the same 2 sets!

As you can see I also coloured a few other characters, not quite sure where they will take me yet but I will share the final project when completed.

Christmas Mouse-Stamprints

Wow! It has been a while but I am back with a new project using an adorable image from Stamprints. This image is called Christmas Mouse and is found at Stamprints Etsy or check it out here on the Stamprints Blog.

I coloured the mouse image with Spectrum Noir markers. The background paper & cardstock is from Recollections. I decided to make a shaker style card and used some miscellaneous sequins and snowflake confetti. The believe sticker was in my December SCT Sampler and was provided by SCT.

Here is the whole card!

Pumpkin Time-Stamprints

For my October creation using Stamprints images I have chosen the pumpkin. This image is cute and works perfectly for Thanksgiving, Halloween or just autumn in general.

You can find this image at Stamprints Etsy. You can see more wonderful images and projects on the Stamprints Blog.

I started by printing the image and colouring it with my Prismacolor pencils. I tried to layer the colours to give the pumpkin some depth.

I decided to make this card a versatile card by just putting a cute “Happy” diecut. I think it could be used for Thanksgiving or Halloween.

I found some burlap style paper that I was excited to incorporate into my autumn-ish project! Here is the completed card.

Summer Recap (lots of pictures)

This is our last weekend before we head back to school on Tuesday. For the first time in forever we had a pretty laidback summer. We didn’t leave town and just stuck close to home. The only planned activity all summer was when my youngest son went to ball hockey camp.

He had a great time learning goalie skills and techniques and I showed up almost an hour early each camp day so that I could watch!

We made a couple of day trips including a trips including Airdrie to visit family, Calaway Park, Fish Creek Park, a few movies at the theatre and the rest of our summer was just decluttering, organizing things, painting and other small household improvements. We did some major tv binge watching too!

I did manage to get some crafting done. I made some jewellery, etched some Supernatural glasses, made an autumn wreath, painted some frames, made a few signs, did a couple of scrapbook pages and completed some cards and other projects.

Here are a few of those projects in case you missed them!

I continued working on a couple of design team projects, was an August Guest Designer for the Stick it Down Blog and I got a second project published in Creative Scrapbooker Magazine!

We also had some wacky weather! A few hail storms rolled through. This is a sample of what came on August 2! Yikes! This summer was hot! I am quite content with the heat but my boys found it too hot to “do anything”! Part of our summer was smokey too! Smoke from the forest fires in British Columbia choked us out for a couple of weeks!

Our dogs spent a fair amount of time just lazing in the sun and then moving to the shade when they got too hot. Here are the obligatory pictures and our cute dogs!

I also spent a lot of time trying out the Instant Pot that I purchased on Prime day. My son loves making vegetable soup. I like making chilli and stews. We have cooked lots of other things like chicken, ribs, roasts and more in the pot. I even made a fresh raspberry compote! Everything was edible! Some things were delicious! My favourite thing to make in the pot so far has been banana bread!

We will be spending the last weekend of summer just relaxing because we know that starting Tuesday we will thrown right into the thick of things and back to our go-go life!
