Twice Is Nice-Goha Digital Stamps

March already? It’s hard to believe that spring is just around the corner but I am hoping that this cute little bird can help us to believe. This bird digital stamp is from the Goha Digital Stamps Blog.

I loved this image so much that I coloured it twice so that I could make a card and a tag in time for Easter!

Here is the tag.

And here is the card. I decided to make it an easel style card.

Here is a side view of the easel card.

Here is the group.

Mushroom-Stamprints

I thought I would try something a little different with my mushroom image from Stamprints. I printed my image as usual n regular printer paper but I decided to use my pearlescent water colour paints to colour the image.

I cut the image out with an oval metal die run through my Cuttlebug. I used Recollections card stock for a base and for the plain kraft card stock layered oval. The patterned paper was layered over the base and the 2 oval layers were placed on top with a small paper embellishment. The final project seemed to be missing something so I ransacked searched my boxes of miscellaneous junk embellishments to find this cute wooden “Happy”. I used some Distress Stain to colour match it.

Once the wood was dry I attached it with some 3D tape. Here is the completed project! I think it would make a cute new home card but it suited for most “Happy” occasions.

Christmas Mouse-Stamprints

Wow! It has been a while but I am back with a new project using an adorable image from Stamprints. This image is called Christmas Mouse and is found at Stamprints Etsy or check it out here on the Stamprints Blog.

I coloured the mouse image with Spectrum Noir markers. The background paper & cardstock is from Recollections. I decided to make a shaker style card and used some miscellaneous sequins and snowflake confetti. The believe sticker was in my December SCT Sampler and was provided by SCT.

Here is the whole card!

Rose Mackintosh on Canvas For Stamprint

I just realized that we are at the tail end of September. The month has been flying by and I have been so busy that I have’t done very much crafting. I did colour a few images here and there starting with this gorgeous image from Stamprints . You can find the image at Stamprints Etsy

I printed the Rose Mackintosh image 4 to a page and coloured them with Spectrum Noir and Chameleon markers. I decided to try different hair and skin tones and was originally going to make a series of cards but when I found some 4×6 canvases at the dollar store I decided to go that route. I used a red and black acrylic paint to create a drippy effect and left it to dry for a few days. Since I had coloured some of the small details on the image a golden colour, I wanted to add a bit of gold to the canvas as well. I achieved this with a Vicki Boutin gold glaze. I originally added a few streaks with a paint brush but ended up rubbing it on with a cloth. I let it dry a couple of days.

I used a dollar store stencil and some Heidi Swapp texture paint to create a bit of dimension. I laid it on pretty thick. Again I let it dry for a few days.

I cut the coloured Stamprints images to the desired shape and attached using a glossy ModPodge, and dried over night.

The last step of my mini canvases was to stamp my sentiments. I used 2 different stamps from Kraftin Kimmie, stamped onto regular paper. I tore the stamped sentiments to give then a bit more texture and then Mod Podged those as well.

Here are the completed canvases! I am quite happy with how it turned out. Next time I think I will lay my image down before the texture paint.

Summer Recap (lots of pictures)

This is our last weekend before we head back to school on Tuesday. For the first time in forever we had a pretty laidback summer. We didn’t leave town and just stuck close to home. The only planned activity all summer was when my youngest son went to ball hockey camp.

He had a great time learning goalie skills and techniques and I showed up almost an hour early each camp day so that I could watch!

We made a couple of day trips including a trips including Airdrie to visit family, Calaway Park, Fish Creek Park, a few movies at the theatre and the rest of our summer was just decluttering, organizing things, painting and other small household improvements. We did some major tv binge watching too!

I did manage to get some crafting done. I made some jewellery, etched some Supernatural glasses, made an autumn wreath, painted some frames, made a few signs, did a couple of scrapbook pages and completed some cards and other projects.

Here are a few of those projects in case you missed them!

I continued working on a couple of design team projects, was an August Guest Designer for the Stick it Down Blog and I got a second project published in Creative Scrapbooker Magazine!

We also had some wacky weather! A few hail storms rolled through. This is a sample of what came on August 2! Yikes! This summer was hot! I am quite content with the heat but my boys found it too hot to “do anything”! Part of our summer was smokey too! Smoke from the forest fires in British Columbia choked us out for a couple of weeks!

Our dogs spent a fair amount of time just lazing in the sun and then moving to the shade when they got too hot. Here are the obligatory pictures and our cute dogs!

I also spent a lot of time trying out the Instant Pot that I purchased on Prime day. My son loves making vegetable soup. I like making chilli and stews. We have cooked lots of other things like chicken, ribs, roasts and more in the pot. I even made a fresh raspberry compote! Everything was edible! Some things were delicious! My favourite thing to make in the pot so far has been banana bread!

We will be spending the last weekend of summer just relaxing because we know that starting Tuesday we will thrown right into the thick of things and back to our go-go life!

Lazy Days & Summer Rays -Stick it Down

I have been asked to guest design for the Stick it Down Team this month.

I know summer is winding down for most of us but there are a few days left to enjoy. I made this card as an ode to summer!

This is the design sketch that I was given to work with. The first thing that I noticed is the eye catching pieces that are positioned in a triangular position. This is a quite popular design in card making and scrapbooking. It has a way of drawing the eye.

Here is my interpretation of the above sketch. I hope you enjoy it and also that you enjoy these last few precious days of summer.

Supplies used in the creation of this card are:

Doodle Bug Design– Sweet Summer Collection paper, cardstock, doodle-pops 3D sticker, Icon stickers (beach ball & ice cream)

Pinkfresh Studio– emphemera (last days & summer rays), enamel dots

These were all products that I received in my July SCT Sampler.
